Is SummerSide
Communities an Assisted Living Center?
No, it is very different. SummerSide is a full-ownership condominium
project with a staffed front desk, flexible daily living services
such as housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation, errands, transportation,
and status checks.
SummerSide is not a licensed health care provider
and does not directly provide medical care or advice. SummerSide
does not arrange or pay for health care services received by SummerSide
residents. However, it is anticipated that an independent home health
company will have an office and personnel on site to assist residents.
SummerSide residents may contract with this on-site provider or
may choose another medical provider, but the resident is responsible
to arrange for any health care services. Health care services are
generally billed to Mdeicare, a private insurer, and in some instances,
self-pay.
SummerSide is unique in that it combines full
ownership condominiums with a preferred provider of health care
services. These services are more extensive than those found in
Assisted Living Centers and can range from assistance with medications
to personal hygiene to physical therapy to skilled/long term care
services. This allows a SummerSide resident to “age in place” never
having to move again!
Is living in a SummerSide
Community more costly than living in an Assisted Living Center?
No. In fact, we believe that when you compare your cost to live
in a SummerSide Community that it will be significantly less. Your
monthly cost could be as much as 20-30% less. This is due to the
services being flexible—you pay only for what you want. In addition,
you own your unit rather than paying a monthly rental fee.
Am I required to have health or daily
living assistance needs to reside at a SummerSide Community?
No, but should your needs change these services are available in
your home or in our on-site wellness center.
What are the advantages of living in
a SummerSide Community?
At a SummerSide Community you own your home, building equity through
appreciation, in contrast to other senior housing facilities where
youpay rent.
Your residence is much more than a small institutional
apartment. The one and two bedroom residences include a full kitchen,
a living room, a master bedroom and bath and a computer niche.
Your residence includes high quality finishes
such as granite counter tops in the kitchen, wood floors in the
kitchen, high grade carpeting in the living and master bedroom area
and crown molding in the living room and master bedroom.
Flexible daily living services can be customized
to meet your special needs if and when you require them.
Our staff at the front desk provides convenience,
safety, and security.
At a SummerSide Community you will be able to
entertain family and friends in your residence or a private party
room. They can even spend the night—its your home.

care services provided should I need them?
